Meadowbank and Northern Beaches Libraries have Mojo 3D Printers. St Leonards Library has the Mojo uPrint SE Plus model.
Scanning allows you to create a 3D computer model representation of a physical object. You can then use this model as a base to adjust or build upon, or to eventually print in 3D . There are different ways in which 3D scanners work, some rotate small objects on a turntable to scan them, while others are handheld devices that are moved around larger objects to scan them.

3D printing allows you to "print" a three-dimensional object out of a variety of materials, such as plastic, metal, and organic materials. Using a process called Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM), a 3D printer would deposit hot plastic on to a build plate in layers that set instantly to build up a 3D object. Our printers use ABS plastic.

Printing at cost is available for current NS Students and staff on an individual basis. Printed items don't have to be related to your course or employment.
NS Teaching sections can also arrange and pay for printing of student group projects. Please contact your library for details.
For individual projects:
Create or copy an .STL file of your object and save it to a USB memory device.
You can create your own object or copy a file from one of the many free 3D model databases available.
Items must adhere to the Library’s 3D printing policy.
Objects can be printed up to 127mm x 127mm x 127mm with a layer thickness of 0.178mm.
Bring the USB device to the St Leonards Library and we will give and estimate of the cost based on the volume of the model.
St Leonards Library has 3D printing facilities.
